I use this feature constantly so here comes the annoying part. Paragraph spacing is a great way to add a little more space between your paragraphs.

But if I want to do it right, would I just create a custom style, based on the normal style, make the changes to it, and then set that custom style as the default for all documents? I don't really think that would be a problem, since my dad never changes the styles anyway. So, if this is the 'normal' style, then I would go to styles and make the changed there?īut making changes to the normal style is going to cause changes in other styles, which use the normal style (trickle down). I did a Google search, and apparently I need to change the paragraph settings in the Style that he is using. We can remove the space by selecting the paragraph(s) or the entire document and going to the paragraph format tab, but each time a new document is started, or even when a new page is added to the current document, the paragraph spacing returns to the default. The spacing seems to default to insert space above and below each line which is started with hitting the enter key (new paragraph). We have been quite frustrated attempting to change the default paragraph spacing for the normal style. My elderly dad is still running MS Word 2000.
